Academy of Natural Sciences

The Academy of Natural Sciences is located at the corner of 19th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It faces Logan Circle. You can also locate it using Google Maps, Bing Maps, or MapQuest.

Please note, as of February 10, 2015, there is construction on the corner of 19th and Cherry Streets (at the rear of the museum, near the 19th Street Entance). Please be careful crossing at this intersection. We recommend crossing at the corner of 19th Street and the Ben Franklin Parkway if possible. You can then use the front entrance of the museum. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Public Transportation

Three SEPTA bus routes run within a block of the Academy. Southbound Routes 32 and 33 use 19th Street. Northbound Route 32 uses 18th Street, while Northbound Route 33 uses 20th Street. Route 38 uses 20th Street in both directions. In addition, Westbound Route 48 uses Arch Street, while several Subway-Surface Trolleys and the Market-Frankford Line run under Market Street. Suburban Station is the closest regional rail station.

Driving

Visitors traveling on US Route 76 should take US Route 676 East and take the first exit onto Winter Street to Logan Circle. (Please note that this exit appears almost immediately after you merge onto US Route 676.) Those traveling west on US Route 676 should exit at 22nd Street and turn right onto the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and proceed to Logan Circle.

Parking

There is metered parking near the Academy, some of which free on Sunday (look for the signs that say “Except Sunday”). The following lots and garages offer discounts to our visitors. Please read carefully, as some lots have special requirements to obtain their discounts.

Central Parking Systems

There are several locations within one or two blocks of the Academy. To take advantage of Central Systems discount, a coupon must be printed from their website and brought with you. Payment must be made by credit card upon parking. For more information on Central Parking, please click here.

LAZ Parking: Logan Square Garage

Members receive special discounts at the LAZ Parking facility located at 1815 Cherry Street. To receive your discount, have your parking ticket validated by our cashiers and show your member ID to the parking attendant when you check out.
